The Büchelberg nature reserve lies about 15 minutes by car from Schellbronn. The heathland with juniper, silver thistles, gentian and orchids is a favourite for nature lovers. Marked loops cross muschelkalk slopes with views over the Heckengäu; disused quarries and sheep grazing shape the picture.
Galgenberg rises directly above Neuhausen: a small plateau with a pond and open pines. Between the trees there is space to breathe, and interesting ground lines recall a turbulent border past. According to local chronicle the last death sentence in Neuhausen took place here in 1793 — the name is historical; today it is above all a quiet place for walks with a panorama.
