The Waldklimapfad near Schellbronn is an experience trail in the pine forest — not dry lecturing, but playful: stations explain climate, forest and nature, with surprises along the way such as the nest tree, climbing frame and gnome forest.
The loop is about 3.5 kilometres and works well with children. The start is at the Waldklimapfad sign near the sports ground of 1. FC Schellbronn (Hohenwarter Straße). Park there and follow the markers into the woods.
Especially popular: the large forest playground en route — climbing frames, balance stations and the lookout at Holzhauer hut with views into the green. Many families combine the trail with a break at the pavilion at Hartäcker overlooking the Monbach valley.
The municipality of Neuhausen and Enzkreis developed the trail; the Walderlebnis Enzkreis app offers a quiz at the stations (Android/iOS). Entry is free — ideal for a morning between rainy days or an active break after the wave pool on Freibadweg.
From Ferienpark Schellbronn the trail is a few minutes away — walk towards the sports ground or drive briefly. Sturdy shoes are enough; strollers are possible on much of the route. Current info and map on the municipality website.
