Camping church Schellbronn — church in the blue tent
Ecumenical holiday programme in Baden-Württemberg summer holidays at International Camping Schwarzwald: children's sessions, workshops and family services in Schellbronn.
Since 1970 Schellbronn has been a fixed venue for the Camping Church in Baden — an ecumenical summer project of the Evangelical Church that takes place in the middle of holiday life. On the International Camping Schwarzwald site on Freibadweg, the distinctive blue tent stands during the school holidays: a meeting point for campers, day visitors and locals.

More than 80 volunteers run an open programme: daily children's sessions, creative workshops, youth activities, play festivals and Sunday family services. You do not need to camp to take part — the offers are explicitly for families from the region too.
From Ferienpark Schellbronn the leisure site in Schellbronn is a short trip — ideal when forest calm at the edge of the woods combines with a structured afternoon for children. Next door are the wave pool and minigolf; a day on Freibadweg is easy to plan in stages.
The season in Schellbronn typically lasts about three weeks in the summer holidays — usually in August. Exact dates and the daily programme are published each year on campingkirche-baden.de — please check before travelling. Taking part in the open activities is usually free.
